There are 4 (four) major rivers namely Atryee, Tangon, Punarbhaba and Jamuna in the district of Dakshin Dinajpur. Besides these rivers, there numbers of drainage channels, locally known as Kharis. All these rivers and most of the Kharis originate from neighbouring country Bangladesh and after traversing the district again enter Bangladesh. |
