- Maintenance
of survey register on population in every Anganwadi Centre's area, keeping records of births and deaths of children and deaths of women during pregnancy and delivery.
- Ensuring immunization
and health check-up of children and pregnant mothers.
- Weighing of children
and maintenance of growth chart to ascertain the nutritional status of children.
- Provision of supplementary
nutrition to children from 6 months to 6 years of age, pregnant and nursing mothers, Food commodities, like Corn Soya Blend (CSB) and Refined Vegetable Oil (RVO) with Jaggery is given in CARE assisted projects. Khitchri of rice and dal is given to the beneficiaries in local food ICDS Projects.
- Running of Pre-Schools
with all teaching and learning materials for children in the age group of 3 to 6 years.
- Monthly meeting
with mothers to make them aware about Health, Nutrition, Child rearing, Hygiene and Sanitation.
- Referral services
for at-risk children on Health and Nutrition grounds to health centres.

- Balika Samriddhi Yojana Scheme
– The scheme has been implemented with effect from 15th
August, 1997. The Balika Samriddhi Yojana is part of a long-term strategy to change social attitudes and behavioural practices towards girl child.

Salient features
- Post-delivery grant of Rs 500/- for mother on the birth of girl child born on and after 15.8.97 in the families belonging to below-poverty-line as defined by the Government.
- Annual scholarships to girl child for attending schools.
- The benefits under Balika Samriddhi Yojana will be restricted to two girl children born on or after 15.8.97 in each household, irrespective of total number of children.
- The beneficiary must be a member of a family belonging to below-poverty line.
- Birth registration certificate of girl child must be furnished.

- Integrated Nutrition
and Health programme jointly with CARE India to provide Nutritional support by means of take-home ration and distribution of IFA tablets to pregnant mothers. Health check-ups for children under 2 years of age.
- Distribution of food
to children of BPL families in the age group of 6 months to 3 years in Non-CARE ICDS project under PMGY scheme in Kumarganj.
