eneral Department

ACTIVITIES OF THE GENERAL DEPARTMENT

1. Sanction order for Birth and Death

Applications received in prescribed form (in quadruplicate with duly affixed One rupee Court fee) from the General Public  are sent to the following authorities for verification.

  • Officer-in-Charge, Record Room
  • Dy. Chief Medical Officer of Health-II, D/Dinajpur
  • B.L. & L.R.O. (In case of Death)

On receipt of the clearance certificate from the above mentioned authorities, this office issues sanction orders for Birth and Death, as the case may be, and sends the same to the Chairman Municipality or the Prodhan of Gram Panchayats, with a request to issue Birth/Death Certificate.

The Chairman Municipality and the Prodhan, Gram Panchayat can issue Birth/Death Certificates, if the applicant applies to the above authority within 21 days from the date of occurance.

2. Haj Pilgrim Party

West Bengal Haj Committee, Kolkata, sends a copy of the Order for Haj Pilgrimage to this office. Side by side they also publicise it through media for inviting application from the willing candidates for Haj. This office forwards this order to BDOs & Gram Panchayat for wide publicity.  The application forms are available to pilgrims only from the West Bengal State Haj Committee, Kolkata office.

3. Police Verification Roll

Verification Roll in duplicate are received from the appointing authority of various departments within this district and other districts. After receiving the same it is sent to the SP, DIB D/Dinajpur for enquiry and report.  On receipt of No-Objection certificate from the Police authority, this office returns the verification roll to the appointing authority.

4. Public Grievance Cell

Any type of complaint or grievance is received by this department.  Applicant may apply in a plain paper clearly mentioning the complaint and the redressal sought.  After receiving the same, the complaint is sent to the concerned department for proper enquiry with a copy to the petitioner for information. On receiving the enquiry report, the petitioner is informed about the action taken in respect of the case.

5. Despatch

All letters of the Collectorate are sent to the addressee through post office.

6. Government Housing

Application of plain papers are received from the Govt employees through their department.  Depending on the Basic Pay, the quarters are alloted category-wise. The entitlement is as follows...

  1. "A" Category Basic Pay from Rs 8,576 and above
  2. "B" Category Basic Pay from Rs 6,451 to Rs 8,575
  3. "C" Category Basic Pay from Rs 4,111 to Rs 6450
  4. "D" Category Basic Pay from below Rs 4,110

7. Identity Card

New incumbents applies on plain paper along with photograph, through their department, for issue of identity card.  After enquiry, the identity card is signed by the District Magistrate and handed over to the incumbent concerned.
