On receipt of the case from the Certificate holder, this Section issues Notice u/s 7 to the Certificate debtor. A reminder is sent
after one month to the Certificate Debtor for clearing the dues, within schedule date and time in the form of "Churanto Notice". If the Certificate Debtor does not appear on the date, then "Distress Warrant" is issued against
the Certificate Debtor. Periodical hearing is conducted, if the Certificate debtor or Certificate Holder submits prayer before the Certificate Officer.Certificate dues are collected from the Certificate debtor
through DCR and a Receipt issued to the C.D. or his representative. The dues of the Government departments are deposited in State Bank of India Balurghat under proper head and the dues of the Certificate Holder
deposited to the respective Banks. Mobile camps are also held at the Blocks, for which the date & time are communicated to the CD, CH and others concerned with the Case, and the dues are also collected in such Mobile
camps. The "Churanto Notice" are handed over to concerned BDOs for serving them to the C.Ds through Panchayat machinery. The total number of Certificate cases, as on 1.3.2002 are 7074. Out of these, 1235 are Bank cases and
5839 are Government cases (Agriculture, Income Tax, Tank Improvement, Sales Tax, Commercial Tax, Excise, House Building, Custom, etc.). The amounts of Certificate dues are Rs 1,26,47,542/- for Bank cases and Rs 58,02,717/-
for Government cases. |
